Port artificiel d’Omaha.
La tempête du 19 et 20 juin, empêcha le port de fonctionner à plein temps. Des navires furent coulés pour colmater les brèches, mais celui-ci a pu cependant être utilisé jusqu’en 1945.
Ce port artificiel fut amené d’Angleterre et coulé sur place afin de briser les vagues venant du large et faciliter le déchargement des navires pleins de matériel.
This artificial harbour was brought from England and put in place to form a breakwater and facilitate the discharging of vessels bringing war material.
The storm of 19-20 June, temporarily halted the logistique support, but it was still possible to use the area well into 1945.
